Easter Weekend

Just a few pictures from our fun weekend in Lubbock...

Easter morning

Hanging out with Pa Pa by the pool, which he talked everyone into putting their feet in to at least once, even though it was as cold as ice water.

It was a really fun weekend. Chesney already misses Memo, Pa Pa, and that other girl (he knows Whitney's name he just won't always call her it-I guess that other girl is her pet name?!) He is already talking about when he will go back and stay with them this summer "all by himself". Can't wait for the next trip!

Chesney's Flying

We got to go to Lubbock Easter weekend. Chesney had a really good time hanging out with "Memo" and "Pa Pa", hunting Easter eggs, getting constant and unceasing attention, and most of all flying on an airplane to get there.

We got to the airport early so we could watch a few planes before we got on ours, and get Chesney used to the idea. ( It was a complete waste of time though, because Chesney has NO fear. It was all just a walk in the park to him.) He did get a really neat miniature plane that makes noise and really looks like it is about to take off, so maybe not a complete waste.

When we were taking off he had the biggest smile on his face, better than Christmas morning. He sat and played, looked at the airline pamphlets, and generally had a nice quiet flight. The real fun came at the end of the flight. We asked one of the flight attendants if we could get a picture of Chesney with the pilot when we landed, and it was like "sure no problem". Little did we know he would get much more than that.

Chesney actually got sit in the cockpit with the pilot and he showed Chesney what a lot of the buttons did. One sounded like a woodpecker, and one made the plane talk.

It is something I hope he will always remember. Hopefully we get to have a few more flights in the future so he will always have a love of flying. ( I really appreciate all the people at Southwest airlines for making out trip so fun, and easy.)

Easter Egg Hunt with Friends

Chesney, Lily and Seth had their easter egg hunt on Tuesday. (It was the only day they were all together) Just a few pictures.

They had a good time, cleaned the backyard out quick, and have a lot of candy to eat now!

Fort Worth Arts Festival

We had a pretty good time just walking around looking at all the stalls. Chesney and Lily "painted" (used sharpies) tiles and checked out all the kids areas. They also got to eat a giant corn dog and some cotton candy, so they had a really good time.

The highlight of the trip was The Flash. They are some crazy street performers; a mixture of acrobatics, juggling, comedy and pure craziness. The wind was gusting so hard we had a hard time walking, and these guys were juggling fire. I would never do it, but it was fun to watch.

The grand finale was a headstand 20 feet up a ladder. Pretty cool.

If they are ever close to Fort Worth we will make an effort to see them. All in all a good day!

Fun At The Zoo

We went to the Fort Worth Zoo this weekend. They just started the dinosaurs and Chesney loved them.

 He wouldn't take a picture with the big T-Rex looking dinosaur, because he said it was going to bite him. We all had a good time and will have to go again. I highly recommend it if you have a dino loving kid; If your kid is easily scared you might want to wait a few years, because there were a few kids crying. Chesney however told me he wished he had his sword so he could fight them.  Crazy boy!

April Fools!

I decided to play a little April Fools joke on Chesney today. Last night I poured some cereal with milk and put it in the freezer over night. This morning I gave it to him....

Chesney, being the determined little boy that he is, didn't give up trying to get the cereal out of the bowl.

After I explained to him what I did, as a silly trick, he told me "That's really funny!".

Since his breakfast was frozen solid I decided to let him pick something else; he picked zucchini bread and pears with milk. Yum!

Fast Friends

I am still surprised how well Skippy is fitting into the family.  I thought there would be a least a little fighting or territorial aggression, but they are just fine with each other. I am really glad her and the boys are loving each other. She sleeps with Chesney the first half of the night, (which I thought Jeff would never allow) and then crawls in bed with Jeff and me the other half. She really is a sweet girl, and it seems like she has always been was us.
